Born and raised in Hardin County. “My work reflects the small things that impacted me during childhood. Dirt roads and pine trees made for a beautiful sight, but eyes were typically cast down to the ground in search of a mossy patch or exciting new insect. Driven by instinct to touch and feel everything, and to hold it as close to my face as possible, my artwork discards the beauty of landscapes and scenes of human activity in favour of singular living objects.” Betty paints for business and pleasure and in 2016 established her standalone studio/micro-gallery for the production of original work. Open to visitors by appointment or as artist is present, this 240 square foot Calder Street studio with its cool small-time d.i.y. aesthetic presented ideal conditions for building a deeper connection between the art community and the general public.
