Born and raised in Hardin County. “My work reflects the small things that impacted me during childhood. Dirt roads and pine trees made for a beautiful sight, but eyes were typically cast down to the ground in search of a mossy patch or exciting new insect. Driven by instinct to touch and feel everything, and to hold it as close to my face as possible, my artwork discards the beauty of landscapes and scenes of human activity in favour of singular living objects.”
Betty paints for business and pleasure and in 2016 established her standalone studio/micro-gallery for the production of original work. Open to visitors by appointment or as artist is present, this 240 square foot Calder Street studio with its cool small-time d.i.y. aesthetic presented ideal conditions for building a deeper connection between the art community and the general public. The studio has quickly become a popular hangout spot for rogue creatives and roaming artists. BSCW studio also regularly hosts events for the public, and extends a warm welcome to artists simply wanting to pay a visit and play for a while!
Betty also provides a variety of services, specializing in Windows and Murals. In all work, special focus is placed on the elements of texture and composition, achieved through various innovative techniques and approaches. Betty’s canvas work can also be found adorning walls of homes across the US and Canada.
